A small town at the foot of the Blue Ridge on Route 7, with a much larger market of mountain and countryside properties sharing its name.
Round Hill sits at the foot of the Blue Ridge where Route 7 climbs toward the gap. The incorporated town is a few hundred people in a few blocks; the address reaches across a much larger stretch of western Loudoun County.
The town
Main Street and Loudoun Street hold 19th and early 20th-century houses on town water and sewer, with Lake Point and Round Hill Meadows adding subdivisions from the 1990s onward. Town residents pay a town tax on top of Loudoun County taxes and get town utilities and services for it.
Around it
South on Route 719, Sleeter Lake has homes around a privately owned lake — access and use rights come from the owners’ arrangements rather than being public, so any listing claiming lake access deserves a check against the documented rights for that specific parcel.
West and above, the Blue Ridge slopes hold wooded mountain lots and larger parcels toward the gap and the Clarke County line, on wells and septic systems. On steep or rocky ground, septic siting is a genuine constraint — a lot may not support the house a buyer has in mind. Get the evaluation before committing on vacant land.
Two Round Hills
There is also a Round Hill in Frederick County, west of Winchester. The two get mixed up in searches and listings. Carry the county name.

Getting around
Route 7 passes immediately north: Purcellville in about five minutes, Leesburg in twenty, Tysons in roughly an hour and ten outside peak. Route 7 continues west over the Blue Ridge into Clarke County. The Silver Line’s Ashburn terminus is about forty minutes east.
Buying or selling here
Establish first whether a property is inside the town, because that decides taxes and utilities. On anything outside, the well, the septic, and — on the mountain — the buildable footprint are the substance of the purchase. Sellers should carry the county in the listing and have water and septic documentation ready.
